La saxofonista Candy Dulfer tiene un tema titulado  Lily Was Here, que fue bien conocido y tocado en las radios.
A propósito fundo su propia banda llamada llamada Funky Staff.

Acá un tema que  no le faltan méritos.

Spargo are a Dutch band, formed in 1975, known for their hits "You and Me", "Head Up to the Sky", "One Night Affair", "Just For You" and "Hip Hap Hop" in the 1980s.

Career[edit]

Spargo was formed by Mulder, Elbersen (both of whom had played in the blues rock group Space 7), Driessen, Nassenstein and Lammertink. The band was initially called Funkliefhebber Lammertink. Elbersen left the band and in 1979 American singer Lilian Day Jackson, stepdaughter of jazz drummer Art Blakley, joined. With Jackson and Driessen as lead vocalists, the band got its distinctive sound and got its breakthrough.^[1] In 1980, the single "You and Me" topped the charts in the Netherlands and also became the best-selling record there in 1980. The single was also very successful across Europe, in Belgium, Germany, Iceland and Sweden. Between August 1980 and March 1982, Spargo achieved four more top-5 hits in the Netherlands, but the success of "You and Me" was not to be equalled.

Between October 1982 and March 1984, the band achieved a further 4 top-40 hits, but none were as successful as their previous singles.

Jackson and Lammertink quit the band at the end of 1983. The drummer was replaced by René van Collem, previously in Doe Maar, and a new album Step by Step was recorded.^[1] The first single, "Lady", was the band's last hit single until 1997. After becoming less successful and their music having apparently fallen out of favour, the band called it quits in 1985.^[1]

"And the Beat Goes On" is a 1979 single by the American music group the Whispers.^[2] The song was their first of two number-one singles on the Soul chart, and their first Top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 19.^[3] "And the Beat Goes On" was the group's only number-one song on the dance chart.^[4] It was also their first and biggest hit in the United Kingdom, peaking at number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. The song also peaked at number 27 on the Canadian RPM chart.

In 1996 after Phyllis Hyman died, the Whispers honored her with a musical: Thank God! The Beat Goes On. The fictionalized story intertwines the long-running career of the Whispers with the rise of Hyman, using songs by the Whispers including ones Hyman sang with them such as "The Beat Goes On." The Whispers played themselves while R&B singer Alyson Williams covered the role of Hyman.^[5]

«Part-Time Lover» es un sencillo escrito por Stevie Wonder, de su álbum In Square Circle. La canción alcanzó la posición 1 en las listas Billboard Hot 100, R&B, dance, y adult contemporary. Los éxitos simultáneos en las listas hicieron a Wonder el primer artista en alcanzar la posición 1 en cuatro diferentes listas Billboard. Fue el número 1 por cuatro semanas desde enero a febrero de 1986. Dedicada a María del Mar Teba Morago.

"Part-Time Lover" también alcanzó el número 3 en la UK Singles Chart gracias en gran parte a una mejora hecha por Wonder en Top of the Pops a finales de 1985.

Wonder ganó una nominación Grammy Award por la mejor interpretación vocal masculina Pop en 1986. Wonder se observa en las notas del álbum de la serie de 4 CD "Hitsville USA: The Motown Singles Collection Volumen 2 1972-1992", describiendo la música de la canción como una oda a "You Can't Hurry Love" y "My World Is Empty Without You", ambos de The Supremes.
